Friendships
While I was growing up my mother told me that friendships will come and go... I, to this day, have always had difficulty with this saying. I am a person that wants to be your friend, spend time with you, and get to know you. And when our friendship begins to wither away, I want to try and save it. As I have grown up I have had several friendship that have come and go. I look back on past friendships that I have had and think of all the good times and yet at the same time I look at the present and I see how many friendships have lasted since kindergarten! I am very blessed in that aspect that I have four great friends that I have know since kindergarten =)
It still bothers me to see that there are a few friendships that are right now withering away and no matter how hard I try the wind still is blowing them away....
I do know the best friendship is between family! Family will be my best friend for forever.

Well, this was my teary eyed moment of the day. As I was reading your post...I was thinking...it is true...but not with family! :) I am soooo happy that we can be forever friends...in good times and bad. You are living in interesting times, though...because of the Internet, friends will come and go in different ways. Someone that you might not heard from in years can suddenly be in your life again. I suppose there is much wisdom in the saying "treasure the moments of life"...and rejoice in your spouse, who, God willing, is the one you will spend most of your life with...even more than your parents. Nice to see you posting!!!
ReplyDeleteAs I read your post it made me think of the people who have come and gone in my life. The one loss I have tried to regain is from my years in a Children's Home. I have searched for Rita for many many years. Since the beginning of message boards and other sites I continue to look for my dear friend from those childhood years. As Laura stated above, there is much wisdom in the saying "treasure the moments of life" ...your spouse is your closest friend and rejoice in that. I moved from England over 40 years ago and sadly, I have to say, my family have not made the effort to remain in my life. Facebook has given me the opportunity to have contact with my siblings but are they friends? I can not say. May God bless you and Philip in your New Life as a family with little Emma.
